IPL is Sheer Entertainment

A large part of the IPL's success will depend on its entertainment value as much as its sporting value, because Bollywood and cricket are the two biggest box-office draws in India. The cash-rich IPL has attracted corporates and many celebrities from the tinsel town to draw people towards the league. Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Preity Zinta were the first to get associated with the IPL concept.

While Bollywood glamour Badshah Shahrukh Khan, along with Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta, bought the Kolkata franchise, Preity Zinta bought a stake in the Mohali team along with her boyfriend Ness Wadia. The association of film celebrities with IPL.will definitely lead to greater fan following for the league.

In the case of Knight Riders the franchise is a model for other franchises as well. Collaboration with celebrity designer Manish Malhotra who designed the jersey, music directors 'Vishal-Shekhar' who composed the Knight Riders Anthem 'Korbo, Lorbo, Jitbo re (We will do it, Fight for it, Win it)', which had forty playback singers and crazy percussionists reveling in a 'Bengali dhak' to enthuse an young and vibrant fan-following. And, of course, the irresistible charm of King Khan and Juhi Chawla to liven-up an already glitzy and glamorous evening showed.

Also Preity Zinta and her associates have made their Kings XI Punjab's promotional logo & video. More over, they have launched their website also, which can be downloaded by clicking the Image in the post on the right side.

With King Khan and Preity Zinta adding the glamour quotient to their IPL teams with every passing day, Vijay Mallya's Bangalore team (Royal Challengers) could not be left behind. Bollywood's glam doll, Katrina Kaif, has been signed not only for the team's promotional video, but also to perform at the opening ceremony of IPL along with Zayed Khan.

The latest to join the list are superstars Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan. Akshay Kumar, who was born in Delhi will be the brand ambassador for Delhi Daredevils; while endorsing the team Akshay shared, "As a kid I have played cricket in Chandini Chowk and the memories always remain special."

Hrithik Roshan is a hardcore Mumbaikar and he has been roped in by Mukesh Ambani to be the mascot for his team Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai and Delhi have always been rival cities and now, with Hrithik and Akshay representing the two metros we can for sure say, "Its 'Krrish' v/s Khiladi.
